The end of your pets' live session is a deeply personal and intimate experience. When I come into your home, my priority is to take my time with your beloved cat or dog. Cats, in particular, require a little more patience, especially if they are older and less inclined to move around. I understand that they might not want to be shifted from their cozy spots, and I embrace this challenge with an open heart. Sometimes, it takes up to 30 minutes for a cat to find the perfect pose, and I’m there to wait quietly for that moment to capture their spirit.

Recently, I had the honor of photographing a sweet cat named Maisie just two days before her family said goodbye. In those precious moments, my goal was to create images that would evoke a sense of comfort and familiarity. I captured Maisie in the places that mattered most to her: perched on her cat tree gazing out the window, nestled on her family’s bed, and being lovingly cradled in their arms. These moments are imbued with love and nostalgia.

This session isn’t just about taking pictures; it’s about honoring the bond that you share with your furry companion. The images I create serve as lasting memories, a reminder of the joy and unconditional love that your pet brought into your life.

I always gift my clients something special that represents a remembrance of their pet. This added gesture serves to further celebrate your pet’s unique spirit and the love you shared. This just adds to the value I bring to the session.

Saskatchewan Doodles Make Great Companion Dogs

I had the honor and privilege of photographing (taking photos) these doodles for Saskadoodles, a breeder in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, in their home. These dogs were so well mannered, trained and listened well. They were in very great hands with the breeder, Jenn who has a lot of knowledge about these dogs and takes a lot of pride and care.

Saskadoodle Companion Dogs is located in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, specializing in F1B Australian Mountain Doodles. These dogs are known for their low to non-shedding coats and temperaments well-suited for families, therapy, or service work.

The breeding program emphasizes health and temperament. Parent dogs undergo comprehensive health testing, including genetic disease screenings, PennHIP evaluations for hip dysplasia, OFA assessments for elbows and heart, and CERF eye examinations by veterinary ophthalmologists. Additionally, parent dogs are trained for one to two years to ensure they possess the desired temperaments. Notably, some dogs, like Osiris and Synari, are in training for psychiatric service work within the breeder's own home.

Puppies are raised using protocols from Puppy Culture, focusing on early socialization and development in a home setting. The breeder is currently accepting applications for their next litter expected in 2025.

Meet the Adoptables: Portraits of Hope from the Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Photographed by Lisa Brice of Brice Photography.

I had the privilege of photographing some truly beautiful souls at the Moose Jaw Humane Society—each one with a story, a personality, and most importantly, a hope for a forever home. These animals are more than just adorable faces. They’re companions waiting for their second chance, and I’m honored to help share their stories through my lens.

The Moose Jaw Humane Society has been a cornerstone of animal welfare in the community for decades. Their dedicated team works tirelessly to provide shelter, medical care, enrichment, and love to countless homeless, abandoned, and neglected animals. They don’t just save lives—they change them.

As a photographer, I’ve learned that animals have a way of showing you exactly who they are if you just give them a little time and patience. Some were shy at first, Others were bold and bouncy, ready to play and soak up attention. But they all shared one thing: the longing for a family to call their own.

If you’ve been thinking about adding a furry friend to your life, I can’t recommend adoption enough the Moose Jaw Humane Society makes the process smooth, supportive, and thoughtful. Whether you’re a seasoned pet owner or a first-timer, they’ll help you find the right match.

You can learn more about the adoption process, meet the available animals, and even donate to support their mission by visiting their website or stopping by their shelter in Moose Jaw.

Moose Jaw Humane Society: thank you for the work you do, and thank you for letting me be a small part of it.
